I was going to write a big rant about perception of value in the property market in Dublin and how it relates to perception of value in other aspects of life in Dublin and how property sucked off all the benefits of economic growth in the past 3 years and eventually thought “dammit, my life is too short.”
I think, however, the estate agents of this world are going to have their work cut out for them. There is still this disconnect between the economic reality of the average buyer and the wishful thinking of the average seller. I mean I see comments about how cash will be king and all that stuff but the ones with cash were the ones who didn’t get caught on the way up and aren’t going to get too caught now either.
So, if you’re looking for almost a million for a city centre 2 bedroomed apartment, you may be waiting a while to sell it. That’s all. Just saying.
