yesterday’s target: 750m
yesterday’s achievement: 1000m. I still can’t string more than 25 of those metres together in one go but the recovery time is falling off big time and yesterday I really had the feeling of not being one of the worst swimmers in the pool.
The first 400m is always the hardest. Once I get past them…it seems to be easier. I don’t know why. It was this way the last time I was training too; once I got to 400m everything racked up dead easy. Also, the last 100m last night was pretty tough as well – the absolute limit for last night.
So, a lot done, more to do.

I improved my swimming immeasurably by adopting the “total immersion” technique, I can now swimming further and easier than ever before and will be drowning with style at the London triathlon next week.
TI has the added benefit of freaking out the other people in the pool as you just glide right by.
Excellent article and endorsement from Tim Ferris (4-hour Work Week):

Give it a go, you won’t regret it.
Yep. I’ve had a go at it and am moaning immeasurably about how it doth slow me down.
I’m actually goting to get some lessons again just to act as a boost up.
