Claire X in the Irish Times.

So I’ve been bashing Alison O’Riordan’s writing in the Sunday Independent and Irish Times of late for being not great, really. To be honest, it disillusioned me to see it getting published.

For an altogether much better piece of writing on how the economic travails are affecting someone, I’m going to point to Claire X in the Irish Times. I hadn’t come across her before but this is not her first piece. This…sounds altogether more real. And I’d like to reiterate that the writing is of a far higher quality.

Here’s the link.

    Hi Treasa,

Someone directed me to your site and of course I looked up the ‘Who You Are’ bit. It’s really so lovely of you to make the comments above. I feel a bit embarrassed by them, actually, but incredibly appreciative. This is all a bit new to me. ‘Nakedising’ – if that’s a word.

Your site is fascinating. And very beautiful. Esp the story about your brother. Oddly, I remember well when Ayrton S was killed in that crash. It stayed with me.

Anyhow, I don’t usually make comments like this, but there was something about your insights, generally, that made me respond. I, too, am a bit of a europhile…maybe it’s that. Or maybe it’s the time of year? Life? I don’t know.

I wish you well, Treasa. And thanks again for such generous thoughts and expression. They matter. Please keep me in your ‘awareness’.

    Be kind to yourself.

    Claire X (Irish Times)

Every single person who leaves a comment on any of my sites telling me the appreciate something I’ve done or said makes my day and my life a little brighter.

Sometimes, I feel, we spend too much time concentrating on the negative in life…but mostly I try to tell people when I appreciate what they do. I think the world functions better on honesty and integrity than anything else.

Thanks for stopping by. Your piece last week was a breath of fresh air in a media which very often seems delusional and superficial. I liked it very much and…I suppose on some level, it matters to know that this feedback reached you.

    take care, you too.
